– Kehinde Ayoola
Easter is not a time for partying, frolicking with shady characters and easy virtue ladies, attending shows, quaffing alcohol and engaging in general debauchery.
Have you ever considered that human beings get into trouble financially, professionally, maritally, health-wise, emotionally etc because they take unwarranted liberty with God?
We tend to take God for granted on issues that are germane to Him with levity.
God then turns His anger to people and they begin to shout ‘yeepa, witches, enemies etc’
It is a time for sober reflection.
Jesus died on the cross to take away our sins. It matters little whether you believe or not, he died for you, he died for me. Your unbelief does not take away anything from His Lordship over creation.
If He therefore suffered that way and you use the occasion of remembrance of His death for your own debauchery, what sort of judgment do you think awaits you?
Judge yourself my brother, my sister.
Let me not hear that you are going to shows, parties etc in this period.
Instead, look for a quiet place or fellowship with brethren and ask yourself the salient question: what if I die now, where will I end up?
If you can give yourself a honest answer and that answer is that you have been an enemy of God all this while, make a decision to change and give your life to Jesus.
It is a win win situation for you.
And please, don’t send Happy Good Friday greeting
We need a lot of sobriety this Passion Weekend.
It shall be well with you as you make that decision.
May the Lord of resurrection wake up every good thing that is dead in your life.
In Jesus Name.
Cum Christo Progredere.
Nil satis nisi optimum.
