Madonna has moved to Lisbon after her 11-year-old son joined the Benfica youth academy.
David Banda, who was born in Malawi, was adopted by the American superstar in 2006.
He came through trials at the Portuguese club in the spring and is currently living at the club’s youth academy at Seixal in Lisbon’s suburbs.
He will attend Lisbon’s French lycee when schools return next month.
Local media report that Madonna has bought a £7m villa in nearby Sintra.
However, while the property is being renovated, she is now living in a hotel in central Lisbon.
Weekly magazine Visao claimed : “Madonna is no longer a tourist, she is a now a resident of Lisbon.”
Madonna has posted photos and videos of the hotel room and of David showing off his football skills.
